Few people realize how complicated it is to build – that is until they find themselves lost in the maze of design options, building codes, zoning laws, contractors, and so on. No two building projects are exactly alike, so there is no single clear-cut path to follow:
The Architect is the one professional who has the education, training, experience, and vision to guide you through the entire design and construction process, and with the Damon Construction “Design/Build” approach you have the best of both worlds, an Architect & Builder as a team working together towards a common goal.
What is an Architect?
The title “architect” may be used only by an individual with a state issued license to practice architecture. Professional qualifications include the following:
- A college degree from an accredited school of architecture, necessitating five or more years of professional studies.
- Three years of internship under the supervision of a licensed Architect
- Passage of a rigorous Professional examination
Only those who have fulfilled these requirements may legally call themselves architects and practice architecture. In New York ONLY registered architects may use the term “architect”.
An Architect is trained to listen to you the client and translate your ideas into a visible construction project. In the Design/Build process this vision is combined with the practical field experience of a master builder to produce the most aesthetically pleasing and yet budget conscience design to produce the clients dream house.
We use state of the art design software to produce 3-D models which provide our clients with photo realistic images of their projects throughout the design process to ensure 100% satisfaction and complete confidence that you will receive your dream home when the project is complete.
Another advantage of the of Damon Construction “Design/Build” method is that the Architect will be on site throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to plans specification, and building codes, thus delivering a safe quality home to the client every time.
